On April 4th, on the stage of Teatr KTO – the latest musical premiere – a performance based on the sonnets of William Shakespeare. It will be a meeting with poetry that surprises with a multitude of emotions, resonates in space, and stays in memory for a long time.
„Shakespeare’s Sonnets” directed by Małgorzata Warsicka with music by Karol Nepelski is a concert of words, gestures, and music – a performance of emotions. A theatrical journey into the heart of a genius who spoke of feelings like no one else. Is it a confession of true love, or merely a poetic game?
As the director of the performance, Małgorzata Warsicka, says: Shakespeare does not idealize emotions – his poems are filled with admiration, desire, and passion, but also with hatred, betrayal, and disappointment. It’s a story of love in all its complexity – beautiful yet painful, passionate yet fleeting. On the theatrical stage, with the help of words, gestures, and music, an extraordinary tale will be brought to life, where love becomes a tribute to humanity, a tribute to life.
This will be a meeting with poetry that still lives, moves deeply, and refuses to be forgotten. The works of Shakespeare sung on our stage will allow the audience to feel love in its purest form.
