For the last 47 years, the KTO Theatre has been on the road. In April 2024, its new touring season began.
The hallmark of the KTO are performances created and directed by Jerzy Zoń. They use a universal and transnational, non-verbal form of expression. The KTO, since the beginning of their worldwide theater pilgrimage, has presented over 80 titles, seen by approximately 3,500,000 viewers. Their path has led them through over 260 cities, 40 countries, and 5 continents. Spectators in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Russia, Japan, Korea, China, Iran, and all over Europe have had the opportunity to admire the extraordinary performances in their own squares and streets.
The 47th season will be inaugurated at the special The City of Wings Festival in Ieper (Belgium).
In Ieper the KTO Theatre will present two of Jerzy Zoń’s performances – ARCADIA and Peregrinus:

The City of Wings festival in Ieper is a wonderful initiative of the local community and the city’s local government. It is a small town near Brussels, infamously marked by history as the place where mustard gas was first used during World War I, killing thousands of people in seconds.
Today, it is a magnificent, beautiful city with many churches, a splendid basilica, and a wonderful market. About fifteen years ago, a brilliant idea was born there, to organize a review of the most magnificent performances from around the world every year in the second week of April. This festival is a kind of non-commercial presentation. The organizers provide modest conditions, but excellent visual, substantive, and technical framing.
The most important thing is that promoters and selectors of theaters and street performances from all over Europe come to this festival. Therefore, it is worth performing there! Playing at this festival results in wonderful contracts for the future. That’s what we are counting on by taking with us our two fantastic titles, “Peregrinus” and “Arcadia”. We will be performing each play twice. Let me invite you to travel with us! Our theater will invariably promote Krakow, Poland, and the theater in the world!

The City of Wings Festival is an international promotion festival for street arts: circus, theatre, music, dance, puppet theatre, installations, fire… During The City of Wings Ypres, Belgian and foreign artists can promote and introduce themselves and their show to organizers/promoters who are personally invited. This promotion festival is also free and freely accessible to all other spectators in order to give the artists a wide and necessary “neutral” audience.
