On May 7th, on the stage of Teatr KTO – the premiere of the winners of the 1st edition of the Body and Time Festival – a performance directed by Jakub Mędrzycki and Ilona Gumowska: “Living room Bizarre”.

The Grand Prize of the festival, dedicated to the theatre of form, movement, dance, and visual arts, was a production budget for the realization of an original performance. The show is a co-production with the Krakow Dance Theatre.

Our culture is built on stories of dreams, permeated with symbols and meanings – blurring the line between what is real and unreal. Dreams are like whispers of the subconscious that have been silenced.

Everything that seems unacceptable in the light of day returns at night in the form of shadows, blurred landscapes, and symbolic figures. What we sweep under the rug and remove from our field of vision is not only part of ourselves – it is the missing piece of the whole.

“Living room Bizarre” is a refuge for all that is rejected and bizarre. A space of dreams, fantasy, and hidden desires that invites us into an oneiric game. Here, nothing is obvious.
