One hundred and fifty-four sonnets, one story. A story of love that never fades. A feeling that knows no boundaries. A tale of emotions pulsing intensely beyond time and space. William Shakespeare’s testimony—his conversation with eternity.
Shakespeare does not idealize love. He reveals its multifaceted nature—ecstatic joy and heart-wrenching pain. It holds both triumph and bitterness, passion and coldness. It is a mystery that defies all definitions. It permeates every line of Shakespeare’s Sonnets—pulsating with desire, drenched in longing, full of contradictions. Love for the young man, for the Dark Lady, for the very act of creation. Is it the master’s confession or a literary illusion?
Shakespeare’s Sonnets, directed by Małgorzata Warsicka with music by Karol Nepelski, is a performance-concert. A journey into the depths of the human soul, into a space where love is true passion, yet constantly clashes with the inevitability of passing time.
