Sometimes every journey comes to an end. But the one with theatre never has to. It can lead toward a better life and accompany us throughout our lives. “Dream of Podgórze, or Mr. Bednarski Walks Halfway Across the Bridge” is a story about arriving in a city with the hope that something new will begin right here.
This theatrical journey leads through dreams of a good place, one’s own place, a sense of belonging. It moves through the stories of those who came to Podgórze and those who decided to stay here, and later to join with Kraków.
The lyrics of the songs in the performance were written by Andrzej Sikorowski, an outstanding creator of many hit songs and a native of Podgórze. He wrote six texts for the production and also composed the music for two of them. Throughout most of the performance, the audience is accompanied by original music by Aleksander Brzeziński, which builds the rhythm of this story balancing between opera, revue, and musical.

We invite you to stop at our station at Zamoyskiego 50 and let yourselves be carried away by the music, the stories, and a shared dreaming of a place to call your own.
In the performance you will see some of the most interesting actors of Kraków’s theatre scene: Katarzyna Chlebny, Grzegorz Łukawski, Jacek Strama, and many others.
The production is taking part in the 32nd National Competition for the Staging of Polish Contemporary Drama.
