L’Envers
This performance is like a flash of madness on a street corner. The artists occupy a circle of artificial turf, inviting passers-by to stop and take some fresh air. This small but cozy area that draws from nature allows you to easily break away from the rest of the world. It is a kind of battlefield and a playground at the same time. Memories drift here between childhood and adulthood. It is a moment offering a chance to break away from everyday life and take time to rediscover the surrounding architecture to which we are so used – quite a luxury today. Their simple and raw theatricality offers space to see the human being instead of the performer.

Christine Daigle and Mathias Reymond – contemporary dance and circus performers – founded the Ici’bas Company in 2015. It is a sort of artistic project that promotes the interdisciplinarity of performing arts. The variety of forms, contexts and media they make use of is enriched with questions about the relationship that connects us with nature, our human nature as well as both of them with each other.
