On Monday, October 5, at 7:00 p.m., the KTO Theater will present the performance “Your Majesty” by Katarzyna Sikora and Marcin Miętus. The performance will take place as part of the “Przestrzenie Sztuki – Taniec – Kraków” program, as a side event to the 3rd edition of the Ciało i Czas Festival.
What does a request require from the person making it, and what does it require from the recipient? When is it merely a suggestion, when does it become a recommendation, and when does it turn into an order? Is there a perfect response to a specific request? What happens when someone’s request seems ordinary and logical, but the body resists it? How can one negotiate without using words? Does a simple “please” end the negotiation, or does it only begin it?
Katarzyna Sikora (choreographer and dancer) and Marcin Miętus (performer and playwright) use dance to explore the themes of negotiation and expectations in both the private and public spheres, as well as on stage. In solo, duet, and trio pieces, they analyze moments when a suggestion becomes a command, and the body either resists requests or yields to them. This is an attempt to answer the question of how to negotiate without words and whether pride allows us to let go.

As the creators say: This play is dedicated to everyone who can’t let go because of their pride and dignity. This play is dedicated to everyone who believes in friendship between men and women. This play is dedicated to you and me.
