“Café Luna”
A spoken-word, musical, comic, and lyrical tale about the quest for love, wrapped in a queer-camp atmosphere inspired by the early work of the famous Spanish film director Pedro Almodóvar. The heroines of Anna Burzyńska’s ‘Café Luna’ stopped waiting for Prince Charming a long time ago. Now, they are simply waiting for anything that won’t turn out to be yet another disappointment.
It’s a tale of ordinary, everyday life which suddenly feels a bit less lonely, all thanks to an old song, a game of cards, a good vent together, or just simply being there for one another.

That’s not all, though. For Theatre Night, we are also hosting a remarkable concert right here in our theatre, as well as an outdoor staging of ‘Bal’ at the Podgórze Market Square.
Mumerus. Concert

Music is the sum of silence interrupted by sounds—generally ordered like the alignment of planets. Silence expresses itself in space. With this music, the creators of the concert wish to conquer the space of the KTO Theatre garden and amphitheater. There, on one hand, you can hear the ambient hum of Kraków bouncing off the surface of the Vistula River, the muffled noise (pedestrians, cars, and trams) of Kalwaryjska Street—and on the other, the almost absolute silence of the Stations of the Cross in the outdoor grounds of the neighboring Redemptorist Church on Krzemionki. At this intersection of sonic sacrum and profanum, we will perform pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Frédéric Chopin, and Béla Bartók. We will play on a captain’s piano and 1960s electric organs (Alicja Margolin), violin, cello, and voice (Susanna Jara), and double bass (Michał Braszak). The concert is directed by Wiesław Hołdys.

“The Ball”
Inspired by Ettore Scola’s cult classic film Le Bal, this spectacular production brings the eras of the past to life. Here, dance speaks more than words ever could. The characters’ stories unfold through a striking collage of movement, set to a pulsing soundtrack that spans the swinging 30s, the passionate tangos of the 50s, and high-energy modern beats.
This is a timeless ball that never ends. History intertwines with individual destiny, and the whole world is contained within the embrace of folded arms.

Free tickets can be collected at the theatre box office from June 10th.
Theatre Night is part of the “Krakowskie Noce” (Kraków Nights) cycle, aimed at encouraging public participation in culture and showcasing Kraków’s rich heritage and creative spirit. For the past 19 years, the KTO Theatre has proudly coordinated the event’s entire independent and open-air program.
