Can dancers be mothers?

Can mothers be more than just mothers?

“TrueMoms Show” is an intimate yet vibrant and energetic story of two performers — dancers and childhood friends. After years spent on different professional and life paths, and maturing within different cultural realities, they meet again. Their experiences of motherhood become a shared point of return — to each other, and to their childhood selves: full of laughter, spontaneity, wildness, and unrestrained creativity.

The performance is an intimate yet universal story of female strength confronted with social expectations and pressure, and the constant balancing between family and professional life. It is a story told through movement, honesty, and a gentle sense of self-distance — where the seriousness of the themes meets the lightness of everyday absurdities, and reflection intertwines with subtle humour.

“TrueMoms Show” looks at the everyday lives of mothers with tenderness and courage — sometimes moving, sometimes subversive, always truthful — showing that even within the chaos of responsibilities and emotions, it is possible to find beauty, strength, and the joy of being oneself.

The performance includes excerpts from the podcast “Matka w Ruchu” by Barbara Wysoczańska-Grochal.

After the performance, there will be a conversation with the creators (hosted by Barbara Wysoczańska-Grochal).
