The play How we f*cked it all up directed by Paweł Szumiec has been recognized in the ranking of the best Kraków theater performances of 2024, compiled by Marta Gruszecka from Gazeta Wyborcza. The production is staged at Teatr KTO.

The journalist watched forty-seven performances and selected the ten best ones. As she writes:
For various reasons, they gave me the greatest joy, shook me, or left me in awe for several days.Among the acclaimed productions, in addition to How we f*cked it all up, are also Time Shelter(National Stary Theatre) and Ladies and Gentlemen, Wyspiański Is Dying (Juliusz Słowacki Theatre).

Marta Gruszecka wrote about the play How we f*cked it all up: Mr. Grzegorz Łukawski, who partners with Kasia (Katarzyna Chlebny) on stage in Paweł Szumiec’s play – you make a very harmonious duo, one that is a pleasure to watch and listen to. Because it is music – including songs like 'Imagine,’ 'Dream Dream Dream,’ and 'Volare’ – that resonates the loudest in the performance, emphasizing that while humanity has f*cked up so many things, at least we did well in art.

„How we f*cked it all up”

The play How we f*cked it all up, inspired by Tom Phillips’ book Humans: A Brief History of How We F*cked It All Up, is a spoken-word and musical performance in which the creators explore the events and ideas that have shaped the foundations of our civilization for millennia.

The main characters are He and She—a man and a woman—suspended outside time and space. Their relationships, struggles for love and partnership unfold against the backdrop of historical events and social transformations.

Together with them, the audience embarks on a journey spanning several centuries—an artistic theatrical adventure whose aesthetic draws inspiration from the world of circus, cabaret, revue, and fairground panoramas.
