Side event: SOMA

The title of the performance refers to somatics—an approach to working with the body based on inner sensation and embodied awareness. This internal sensitivity becomes a starting point for an ephemeral lesson in art history, expressed through choreography and music. During the performance, the audience is equipped with headphones (audio guides), allowing them to move freely through the designated space and observe or participate in the event from multiple perspectives.
*SOMA is a collaboration with the National Museum in Warsaw, drawing on the legacy of women sculptors from the early 20th century, including Olga Niewska, Mika Mikun, Janina Broniewska, and Zofia Kamińska-Trzcińska. These artists’ works were presented in last year’s exhibition “Direction Paris. Polish Women Artists from Bourdelle’s Studio” at the National Museum.
Project co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage under the Art Spaces – Dance program, implemented by the National Institute of Music and Dance.
