Prélude

Prélude is born from a breath — the very first one, the vital impulse. Choreographer Kader Attou revisits his own childhood in the suburbs of Lyon, his discovery of boxing, the beauty of gestures, Chaplin’s silent films, and the power of hip-hop as a space for freedom. The performance, supported by the electroacoustic music of Romain Dubois, rises from silence to intensity, like a fight carried on to the very end, and the nine dancers embody humanity in tension — bodies tangled, breathing, swelling, resisting, which creates a metaphor for struggle.
