Marek Braun

Stage designer, graduate of the Faculty of Interior Design and the Postgraduate Stage Design Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, where he currently leads the Studio of Media Art and Stage Design in Public Space as a professor.

He is the author of more than 200 stage sets in, amongst others, the National Stary Theatre in Krakow, the S. Wyspianski Silesian Theatre in Katowice, the Wybrzeże Theatre in Gdansk, the Polish Theatre in Wroclaw, the T. Łomnicki New Theatre in Poznan and the Z. Hübner Powszechny Theatre in Warsaw.
For over 30 years, he has collaborated with the Contemporary Theatre in Szczecin, creating set designs for plays directed by Anna Augustynowicz.

Marek Braun received the Minister of Culture and Art Award for his stage design for Włodzimierz Szturc’s play Magnificat in the 1st National Competition for the Production of Polish Contemporary Art in Warsaw.

For the KTO Theatre, he created the set designs for the outdoor performance of Quixotage directed by Jerzy Zoń (2007) and The Sunshine Boys (2021).
